Stromboli

I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate. --Julia Child

Sometimes pizza just doesn't cut it. Sometimes I want something...more.

On those days, a Stromboli seems to do the trick.

I take pizza dough (fresh or store-bought) and cover it with a layer of ricotta and Italian herbs, then layer sausage, mushrooms, broccoli, peppers, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese on top. Then, simply roll it into a log, tucking in the ends.  (Note: Don't over stuff it, or will be hard to roll.  I usually keep about 2-3 inches on each side free of ingredients to help with that.)

Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with more herbs and bake at 350F degrees for about 25 minute until browned and puffed and bubbly.

Slice into equal portions and serve with a warm marinara sauce on the side.

Easy does it...and boy, does it taste good!
